Vesterbro is the neighbourhood guests find on their own. Ten minutes on foot from Copenhagen Central Station, the Meatpacking District around the corner, Tivoli within walking distance and more good restaurants per street than anywhere else in the city. When people search for a flat in Copenhagen, many of them are really searching for a flat in Vesterbro.
That makes it one of the strongest places in Denmark to rent out through Airbnb. But Vesterbro also has one feature the general guides skip: almost half of its homes are andelsbolig cooperative flats. Here it is rarely the municipality that decides whether you can rent out. It is your housing association.
The neighbourhood sits right next to the Central Station, so guests with suitcases land in the area without a metro ride or taxi. The Meatpacking District and Værnedamsvej pull in people who travel for food and bars, and Tivoli, Strøget and the harbour are walkable. The guests are mostly couples on a city break and small groups staying two to four nights.
That means two things for you as a host. Demand is high and steady across the year, peaking from May to September and around big events like Distortion. And the location carries the price: you do not need designer furniture to charge a sensible nightly rate, but the basics have to be right, bed, light, cleaning and a check-in that simply works.
